Stress caused by corona causes irregular changes in the menstrual cycle

Everyone has had a hard time in the past year and a half since the emergence of the Coronavirus, and recent research has shown that stress caused by the Coronavirus can lead to changes in the menstrual cycle in women.

And according to the “thehealthsite” report, a new study found that with increased stress levels during the Corona pandemic, women may experience irregular periods.

The study published in the Journal of American Women's Health found that after the Covid-19 epidemic began in March 2020, more than half (54%) of the researchers' participants noticed changes in their menstrual cycle. "We know that stress can negatively affect our overall health and well-being, but for women and people who menstruate, stress can also disrupt normal menstrual patterns and overall reproductive health," said researcher Nicole Witwich of Northwestern University in the US.

For the study, the research team recruited more than 200 women in the United States to learn more about how stress during the pandemic affected their menstrual periods between July and August 2020. They were less tense.

Reproductive health should not be ignored, the researchers said, as we are already seeing the ripple effects of what happens when we fail to consider this important aspect of women's health as many now suffer from menstrual irregularities due to the Corona virus.

According to Dr. Manjiri Mehta, Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Hiranandani Vashi-A Fortis Network Hospital, “People need to understand that vaccinations are both safe and effective, and there is sufficient evidence to support this, stressing that there is no evidence or strong evidence that HIV vaccines Corona will weaken the chances of women getting pregnant in the future.
