Thailand to allow the return of foreign tourists who are completely immune to "Corona" next month

Thailand plans to reopen the capital, Bangkok, and other major destinations, to foreign tourists next month, with the aim of reviving its troubled tourism sector after indications that the number of infections with the emerging coronavirus, Covid-19, may have reached its peak.

"Bangkok, Hua Hin, Pattaya and Chiang Mai will be added to a program in which visitors who have been fully vaccinated and meet a series of tests are allowed to enter, according to certain criteria," Thai government spokesman Thanakorn Wangpunkongchan said, according to the Thai Bangkok Post newspaper, on Sunday.

"This scheme is underway in the islands of Samui and Phuket, where about 70 percent of the local population has been fully vaccinated," the spokesman noted.
