Libyan Foreign Ministry: Shammakhi is no longer a representative of his country at any level in the Arab League


In a statement, the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation clarified the truth of the circulating news about its refusal to nominate the former deputy representative of the Libyan mission to the Arab League, Saleh Shammakhi, to take over the position of head of the League’s mission in Madrid, by saying that he had completed the specified period and even exceeded it legally, according to the laws in force in Libya and others. from countries of the world.


The Libyan Foreign Ministry confirmed that it had issued a decision against Shammakhi to resign at the end of last June because of his refusal to surrender and return to his previous work in Libya, and therefore he is no longer a representative of his country at any level with the Arab League until he is assigned to his tasks in Madrid, especially in light of the findings of a committee The investigation formed by the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the abuses committed by Shammakhi while heading the Libyan mission to the League.


The Libyan Foreign Ministry affirmed its keenness to recommend those it deems competent, experienced and professional to take up this position at the time specified by the League of Arab States, adding that it is determined to implement diplomatic law and implement the reform plan to raise the level of efficiency, performance and commitment to the ministry.
