The number of births in Egypt fell to 168.7 thousand last March

The data of the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics showed a marked decline in the number of births in Egypt, in conjunction with the efforts made by the government to spread awareness among citizens about the population increase and its impact on the standard of living of citizens.

Data from the Statistics Authority said that the number of births in March was about 168.7 thousand, while the number of births was about 180,3 thousand in March 2020, a decrease of 11.6 thousand.

These figures come as a continuation of the decline in the natural increase in the number of births in Egypt, as the time period in which a population increase is achieved by one million people increased during the period "2018-2020", which is a good indicator that reflects the tangible efforts of the state in confronting the population problem.

The Statistics Authority monitored a decrease in the number of births during the months "January, March, April, May, July, September, November, December" in 2020 compared to 2019, while the number of births increased during the months "February, June, August, October" in 2020 compared to In 2019, and in general, the total number of births decreased by about “72,294” born in 2020 compared to 2019, with a change rate of 3.1%.

A population increase of one million people was achieved within 275 days, i.e. 9 months and 5 days, as the average daily population increase "the difference between the numbers of births and deaths" amounted to 3,636 people, during the period of population reaching 102 million "from October 3, 2020 to July 5, 2021" that is. 152 people per hour, i.e. 2.5 people per minute, which means that the time it takes for an individual to increase to the population is 24 seconds.
