The Minister of Sports launches the first activities of the first sports festival in His Majesty to celebrate the anniversary of the June 30 Revolution

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, launched the motorcycle and motorcycle marathon in front of the Egyptian International Olympic Games City heading to El Galala City as part of the activities of the first sports festival organized by the ministry represented by the Central Administration for Sports Development and the General Administration of the Grassroots under the slogan "From Achievement.. to Achievement". , in celebration of the June 30 anniversary, with the participation of 1,000 young men and women from the governorates of Cairo, Suez and Ismailia.


Dr. Wajih Azzam, President of the Egyptian Cycling Federation, Dr. Sonia Abdel Wahab, Head of the Central Administration for Sports Development, Dr. Sayed Hazin, Director of the Youth and Sports Directorate in Cairo, Dr. Amr Haddad, Assistant Minister for Sports Development, and Dr. Ghada Gamal El-Din, Director General of the General Administration of Grassroots will participate in the festival.


The Minister of Youth and Sports explained that the aim of the festival is to shed light on the achievements of the Egyptian state, develop belonging and loyalty to Egypt, raise the level of physical fitness, expand the base of practice, and spread sports culture.


It is noteworthy that the festival includes many activities that started with a bicycle marathon in cooperation with the Egyptian Cycling Federation, bikers from the administrative capital to the city of El-Galalah, mountain-climbing competitions in El-Galalah, in addition to sports shows on the lake, and water-sports competitions: kayaking - kayak - sail - Nile bike Five football matches, beach volleyball, Paracel performances in the lake, in addition to in-kind prizes for all participants.


Sobhi said: We are witnessing an unprecedented stage in construction and reconstruction at all levels, noting that the new sports infrastructure after June 30th put Egypt in a global position to host the largest tournaments and sporting events.


The Minister of Youth and Sports explained that the Egyptian state places the axis of sustainable development at the forefront of national priorities in light of the implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and this is embodied in the sustainable development strategy, Egypt’s Vision 2030, which is being worked on in various sectors and economic and social fields, adding that the government pays attention to To continuously update Egypt's Vision 2030 in light of political, economic, social and environmental changes.


The Minister of Youth and Sports added that, based on the fact that improving the health of citizens is one of the sustainable development goals, we seek to achieve it on the ground through sports development programs and the dissemination of the culture of sports practice in the community in implementation of the directives of the President of the Republic, as well as working to launch creative skills, discover talents and educate them, and provide youth services and sports in all governorates and instilling the spirit of loyalty and belonging among young people and youth.


The Minister of Youth and Sports referred to the Ministry’s launch of the National Project for the Gifted and the Olympic Champion, which aims to discover talented athletes, through the application of scientific and physical standards and foundations to choose the best and work according to a training program for them in a framework of support and care for the talented and presenting them as sports champions to Egypt in various games.


The Minister of Youth and Sports stressed that the establishment and development of facilities and infrastructure for the sports system in Egypt is being completed according to a comprehensive approach that integrates with the huge development projects implemented by the state in accordance with the mandates of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, which qualifies Egypt to possess the necessary capabilities to host major international championships in various games as well as On the health, social and economic added value of the sports system in Egypt by spreading the culture of sports practice among the masses of the Egyptian people.
