The Arab League will hold a coordination meeting for heads of intellectual property offices tomorrow



The Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Department of the League of Arab States will hold the ninth coordination meeting of heads of intellectual property offices in Arab countries (industrial property offices) in cooperation with the Arab Office of the World Intellectual Property Organization, tomorrow, Tuesday, via video communication technology.

 

The meeting comes within the framework of continuous cooperation between the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

 

It is held periodically, jointly organized by the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States (Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Department) in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (the Arab Office of the Organization) since 2002.

 

This meeting is an opportunity for government officials from intellectual property offices in Arab countries to coordinate and exchange experiences in the field of intellectual property.

 

For her part, Minister Plenipotentiary Maha Bakheet, Director of the Intellectual Property and Competitiveness Department of the League of Arab States, said that the agenda of the meeting will discuss several topics, the most important of which are the activities and decisions taken within the framework of the League of Arab States to support intellectual property, and the most important recommendations of the eighth coordination meeting that was held In the Arab Republic of Egypt in April 2018.

 

She added that a number of the organization's experts will present working papers on how to take advantage of intellectual property tools for the benefit of small and medium-sized companies, and the policies offered by the World Intellectual Property Organization to serve universities and scientific research institutions.
