Taxes refer 10 companies that are not committed to the electronic invoice system to the prosecution


Reda Abdel Qader, head of the Egyptian Tax Authority, stated that 10 companies not committed to joining the electronic invoice system were referred to the prosecution, in accordance with the text of Article (72) of the Unified Tax Procedures Law No. 206 of 2020, stressing that all legal measures will be taken against non-compliant companies.

 

Abdul Qader said that the ten companies that were referred to the prosecution are companies registered with the Senior Financiers Center, and a decision was issued regarding them to join the electronic invoice system within the third stage, and they did not commit to participating, and before making the decision to refer to the prosecution, they were contacted and several emails were sent to these companies to alert and warn that legal measures be taken. And when those companies did not respond, they were transferred to the prosecution.

 

Abdul Qader stressed that according to the provisions of Article 35 of the Unified Tax Procedures Law, companies and other legal persons are obligated to register their sales and purchases on the electronic system, as well as Article 37 of the same law, which stipulates that every financier or taxpayer is obligated to issue a tax invoice or receipt in electronic form.

 

The head of the Egyptian Tax Authority called on the companies obligated to join the electronic invoice system to quickly take the necessary measures in order to avoid taking legal measures against them, and so that the time factor is not an obstacle that delays the process of joining the electronic invoice system or makes them unable to benefit from the advantages provided by the electronic invoice system.

 

The head of the Tax Authority confirmed that the Ministry of Finance and the Tax Authority provide all facilities and support to companies for the mandatory joining of the electronic invoice system, whether through the technical support office at the Senior Taxpayers Center or field visits, and through the integrated call center on the number 16395 or through the e-mail einvoice_support@efinance.com .eg

It is worth noting that the electronic invoice system launched its first mandatory phase in mid-November 2020, extending its umbrella to 134 companies registered in the Senior Taxpayers Center, and the second phase was implemented on February 15, 2021, by applying to 347 companies registered with the Senior Taxpayers Center, and the third phase of it began in Last May 15, by applying to the rest of the companies registered with the Senior Taxpayers Center, and this was followed by the issuance of Resolution No. (195) of 2021 obligating all companies registered with the Center for Mediterranean Taxpayers (Cairo) and the Center for Senior Self-Professional Financiers (in Nasr City) to issue electronic tax invoices for the goods or services they sell. services, as of 9/15/2021.
