Lebanese Prime Minister-designate: Parliamentary consensus on the need to urgently form a government

Najib Mikati, the Lebanese Prime Minister-designate, confirmed that there is a consensus from the parliamentary blocs and independent members of the Lebanese Parliament on the need to expedite the formation of the government as soon as possible.

In a speech after the non-binding parliamentary consultations on forming the new government ended, Mikati added that by forming the ministry represents the restoration of the state and its existence, which makes the citizen feel reassured.

Mikati explained that the conditions in Lebanon are difficult, and the citizen's needs of fuel, electricity, medicine and food must be secured, noting that he will inform Lebanese President Michel Aoun of the results of the consultations today, emphasizing the absolute necessity of forming a government.

He made it clear that he would always go to the Republican Palace to expedite the formation of the government.
