ITIDA: French "ATOS" expands outsourcing operations in Egypt and announces new appointments

The Information Technology Industry Development Authority (ITIDA) signed a memorandum of understanding with the French international company Atos, on the sidelines of the authority's participation last week in the 4YFN conference within the activities of the GSMA Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, ​​Spain.


The memorandum of understanding aims to enhance cooperation between the two parties in the areas of accelerating digital transformation processes, providing information technology services to the company's clients from Egypt, and creating new job opportunities for Egyptian youth.


Atos International, through cooperation with the authority, seeks to expand its operations in Egypt to provide its services to global markets, by providing software development services, technical support services, infrastructure database management services, big data services, and cybersecurity services.


The duration of the memorandum of understanding is three years, during which the global company aims to double the number of employees in its center in Egypt by appointing and training a group of engineers and specialists in providing cross-border information technology services to serve the company’s clients in various global markets.


Eng. Amr Mahfouz, CEO of the Information Technology Industry Development Agency, stressed the authority's keenness to provide the necessary support to the international company "Atos" to facilitate its expansion business plans in Egypt, within the framework of the authority's role in supporting foreign investors, institutions and international companies in order to provide outsourcing services from Egypt. and help them better serve their customers around the world.


Noureddine Behman, CEO of the Developing Markets Area at Athos, expressed his happiness with the launch of this promising partnership with Egypt, as the company intends to double its investments and presence in Egypt during the coming period, due to Egypt’s competitive advantages, an abundance of specialized skills and the development that Egypt is witnessing in many economic and social fields.


For his part, Eng. Ahmed Al-Harrani, General Manager of the company in Egypt, said that the global "ATOS" company aims to make Egypt the cornerstone of its strategy in the Middle East region.


Egypt hosts a long list of international technology companies that take Egypt as a hub to expand their operations and serve their customers from their branches in Egypt, in more than 20 different languages ​​and in more than 100 countries around the world. Egypt's market share in the global business services outsourcing sector is about 17⸓, while Egypt witnessed a rise in technology export revenues to a value exceeding $4.1 billion during the past year, according to the global consultancy IDC.
