Ali Maaloul will miss Al-Ahly’s training before traveling to Morocco


Sayed Abdel Hafeez, the club’s director of football, said that Ali Maaloul, the team’s left back, had contented himself with performing a session in the “gym” on the sidelines of the team’s collective training, which was held this morning, Tuesday, at the Teach Stadium on the island, in preparation for the African Champions League final match, against the Kaiser Chiefs, champion of South Africa, scheduled for next Saturday evening.


Abdel Hafeez explained that “Maaloul” was satisfied with performing a session in the “gym”; This is to reduce the training load, as determined by the technical staff of some players, indicating that the player is physically and technically ready to participate in group training and matches.

The first football club in Al-Ahly Club resumed its training this morning, Tuesday, at Al-Teach Stadium in Al-Jazira, after the negative rest that the players obtained, after the last clearing match in the Premier League, which ended with Al-Ahly winning 4-1.

The final match of the African Champions League will be held in a one-match system for the second consecutive season after the famous final of the century, which brought together Al-Ahly and Zamalek and ended with the crowning of the Red Genie as the continent’s champion with two goals against a goal.


In total, Al-Ahly played 10 final matches at the African level in a one-match system, with 9 matches in the African Super Cup and one in the African Champions League final against Zamalek.


The Red Genie succeeded in winning eight matches from 10 African finals to win the African Super Cup (2002, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2013, 2014, 2021) and one title in the African Champions League (2020), with a loss in the African Super match. The years 1994 and 2015.


Al-Ahly’s appearance in the Champions League final for the fourth time in the last 5 years, after recording its presence in the 2017, 2018 and 2020 editions, and in the current edition, in search of enhancing its record number of title wins.


Al-Ahly won the African Championship in the years (1982, 1987, 2001, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2013, 2020) and was unlucky to win the title in the years (1983, 2007, 2017, 2017 and 2018).
