Neven El-Messiri, CEO of the Ahl Masr Foundation for Development

A journey of success and clear fingerprints in working in the banking system that qualifies the manager for future successes for the new position


Ahl Masr Foundation for Development issued a decision appointing Ms. Nevin El-Messiri as CEO of the Foundation, in order to benefit from his extensive experience in the field of management to raise the efficiency of the administrative structure and to use her extensive experience to improve performance in the institution with the imminent opening of Ahl Masr Hospital for the treatment of burns free of charge.

Professor: Nevin El-Mesiri holds a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Commerce at Cairo University, and held the position of CEO and Managing Director of the Ahli United Bank “Egypt”, from 2010 to 2019, and began working in the banking sector at the Commercial International Bank in 1981 in the management of banking operations, branches and retail Banking for 4 years, then moved to the credit department in the same bank, and rose in positions until she reached the position of head of the credit sector between 2005 and 2010.

Al-Masiri is a member of the advisory board of Panther Consulting Company, and Al-Masiri is also a member of the board of directors in many holding companies and others.

El-Mesiri contributed to the establishment and supervision of the organization of the "Women Leading the Future" program in 2017, in cooperation with the Central Bank, the National Council for Women, and the Forum of 50.

Her name was also ranked 30 in the list of "100 Most Influential Women in the Middle East" for the year 2018 by Forbes Middle East magazine.

El-Messiri drew her expertise in the management of Al-Ahly United Bank from her busy banking career, which began with her graduation from the Faculty of Commerce, Cairo University, and her joining the National Chase Bank, which later turned into the Commercial International Bank (CIB), and graduated in banking in several Majalat, starting with retail banking, passing through working in the credit sector, to occupy the position of general manager of credit at the Commercial International Bank, until she was chosen to occupy the position of CEO of Ahli United Bank - Egypt, until she left the bank at the end of 2019.

Al-Mesiri made her own mark and achieved many achievements during her tenure, and succeeded in raising the bank’s profits from 164.3 million pounds at the end of 2010, to 1.46 billion pounds at the end of 2018, achieving a growth of 790.2% during her tenure, in addition to strengthening the capital base. The bank has reached 6 billion pounds, and the paid-in capital has risen to 2.5 billion pounds, in addition to adopting a geographic expansion plan to reach remote areas.

Al-Masiri was interested in launching many banking services, most notably opening bank accounts electronically, and dealing directly on the phone, through the Mobile Wallet service, as well as internet banking services on their accounts or the accounts of other beneficiaries. Nevin was not satisfied with that, but also established a department specialized in providing banking services in the field of navigation to deal with ships transiting from the waterway of the Suez Canal.
