The Israeli ambassador to Germany calls for strengthening protection after demonstrations in solidarity with Palestine

The Israeli ambassador to Germany, Jeremy Issacharov, called for further strengthening of protection after demonstrations in front of synagogues and Jewish institutions in solidarity with the Palestinian people.

"We are concerned about anti-Semitic acts, and the conflict in the Middle East has nothing to do with the Jewish community here in Germany," Isacharov said in statements carried by the German newspaper, Taj Spiegel, and I urge the German authorities to do everything in their power to ensure the safety of our society here.

And due to the escalating conditions in Gaza and Israel, Berlin tightens security measures on Jewish institutions in the capital.

"The Jewish community is understandably concerned about its security, and our security authorities are closely monitoring developments in the Middle East and their potential implications for Berlin," said Senator Andreas Geisel (SPD) in-house Friday in Berlin.

A number of demonstrations and marches took place in front of the synagogues in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
