Syrian Foreign Minister: Syria has always supported the Palestinian people and supported their cause

The Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, affirmed that Syria welcomes any initiative related to the restoration of normal relations between Arab countries and with any effort made to achieve this. We must stand by each other and cooperate to the maximum within the framework of developing Arab-Arab relations.


Al-Miqdad said in statements published on the website of the Syrian Revolution newspaper today, Monday, that there is a real will among the masses of the Arab people in all Arab countries to rally around Syria and the Palestinian cause in order to restore the minimum level of Arab solidarity, stressing that joint Arab action cannot be complete. And influential without the presence of Syria and that most of the Arab countries support the presence of Syria in the Arab League.


On the decision of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) against Syria last month, Al-Miqdad explained that the United States exerted great pressure on the members of the organization and yet only 87 out of 193 countries voted in favor of the decision, meaning less than half of the member states, pointing out that the ban organization is a technical organization that does not deal Matters in it by voting, like the General Assembly of the United Nations, but in the framework of consensus between countries.


Al-Miqdad explained that the escalation in the ban organization took place at this time mainly with the aim of harming the presidential elections, to prevent any return by Arab countries to Syria and from Syria to their Arab surroundings, and to continue to support terrorist groups, as these are Western goals, whether they are French, German, American or British.


Al-Miqdad renewed Syria’s refusal and condemnation of the use of chemical weapons anywhere, anytime, and said we believe that the use of chemical weapons is prohibited anywhere, at any time and under any circumstances.


In another context, Al-Miqdad stressed that Syria has always been with the Palestinian people and has supported its central cause for it, indicating that this people regained the initiative after all the dangerous developments that surrounded the Palestinian cause, as it seemed that some in the region believed that this issue had ended so that the world would be surprised by this great people. And in this solidarity with his resistance to the Israeli occupation.


Regarding the Syrian presidential elections, Al-Miqdad said that the large influx of Syrians abroad to their country's embassies in various capitals proved that the Syrians are now more committed to their homeland and to the goals that Syria has set for itself for many years, especially the Palestinian issue and the issue of liberating the occupied Arab lands, stressing that the Syrians will prove when they go To the polling stations in all the Syrian provinces next Wednesday, their commitment to their homeland, reconstruction and the fight against terrorism, and they are on the side of their army until the final victory is achieved.
