Paris Saint-Germain flirts with Lewandowski in anticipation of Mbappe's departure

French press reports revealed Paris Saint-Germain's interest in contracting the Polish star Robert Lewandowski, the Bayern Munich striker, in anticipation of the departure of the young Frenchman Kylian Mbappe from the team, as Real Madrid is striving to join the latter in the summer.

The French newspaper "L'Equipe" said that Lewandowski seems to have other plans far from Saint Germain, despite the interest of the Parisian team, which fears Mbappe's departure and not filling the great void after him in the attack.

Bayern Munich chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: "Nobody sells a player who scores 60 goals in the season."

This comes at a time when Sky Sports indicated that the veteran player's agent Benny Zahavi had spoken with other clubs, as the Polish contract expires in 2023.

Lewandowski lives in a wonderful condition these days, as the Polish striker repeated the historic achievement of Gerd Muller, the legend of the Bavarian team, by scoring 40 goals in one season in the Bundesliga.

Lewandowski raised his score to 40 goals during his participation in 28 games in the German league this season, to match Gerd Muller's record in the number of goals during one season in Bundesliga, which he achieved in the last season 1971-1972.
