Al-Ahly guarantees 14 million pounds after reaching the semi-finals of the African Champions

Al-Ahly club and the teams that qualified for the semi-finals of the African Champions League secured 875 thousand dollars from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as part of the grants and prizes that CAF gives to the clubs that qualified for the final rounds.

Al-Ahly team qualified for the CAF Champions League semi-finals for the 17th time in its history, after a tie with Sun Downs with a goal for each team in the match that brought them together at the Lucas Moribi Stadium in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-finals, with a total of 3/1 matches.

The Moroccan site "le360" Sport said that the clubs qualifying for the semi-finals of the African Champions League are Al-Ahly, Moroccan Wydad, Kaizer Chiefs and Tunisia's Esperance, who guaranteed $ 875,000, or nearly 14 million pounds from the African Union.

The site pointed out that the tournament prizes award the champion $ 2.5 million, while the second-place winner gets $ 1.25 million.

Tunisia's Esperance qualified after defeating JSB Belouizdad of Algeria with a penalty shootout, 3/2, after the first-leg match ended with a 2-0 victory for Belouizdad, which is the same result as the second leg.

Al-Ahly will play the first-leg match against Esperance on June 18 or 19 at the Rades Stadium in Tunis, while the return match will be played on Sunday 25 or 26 of the same month at the "Al-Ahly and Al-Salam" stadium in Cairo.
